Coventry-based electric motorcycle manufacturer Maeving has introduced the RM1S Blackout, a limited-edition variant of its acclaimed RM1S model. This new release combines classic café racer aesthetics with modern electric performance, offering riders a blend of style and sustainability.
The RM1S Blackout features a distinctive all-black design. This includes a matte carbon fiber finish on the fenders and infills, black wheels, and powder-coated circular bar-end mirrors. These design elements pay homage to the traditional café racer style while providing a sleek, modern appearance.
The Specs
The RM1S Blackout is powered by a brushless rear hub motor delivering 11.1 kW (15 hp) and 261 Nm of torque. This setup allows the bike to reach a top speed of 70 mph (112 km/h). Therefore, it’s suitable for both urban commuting and occasional highway rides.
The motorcycle comes equipped with two removable LG M50LT batteries, offering a combined capacity of 5.46 kWh. Depending on the mode—Eco, Ride, or Sport—the RM1S can achieve a range of up to 80 miles per charge. Charging the batteries to 100% takes about six hours, while an 80% charge takes just 2.5 hours.
Maeving’s focus on user-friendly design is evident in the RM1S Blackout’s features. The bike’s lightweight construction enhances maneuverability. And its removable batteries can be charged using any standard three-pin socket, eliminating the need for specialized charging infrastructure.
The RM1S Blackout costs $11,495. However, the supply is limited to just 100 units, emphasizing its exclusivity. This model is part of Maeving’s strategy catering to urban riders seeking a combination of classic design and modern performance.
