In a leap forward, Royal Enfield aims to introduce its first 750cc motorcycle, the Continental GT-R. This marks a new chapter in the company’s storied history. This upcoming model debuts a newly developed 750cc twin-cylinder engine. Internally codenamed ‘R’, it represents a substantial upgrade from the existing 650cc platform.
The Continental GT-R is envisioned as a faired café racer, blending classic aesthetics with modern engineering. Spy shots and renders suggest a semi-faired design featuring a retro-style round headlight and a windshield. This maintains the brand’s vintage charm while incorporating contemporary elements.
Powerplant
The new 750cc engine ought to deliver between 50 to 55 bhp and approximately 60 Nm of torque. This surpasses the performance metrics of the current 650cc engine, which produces 47 bhp and 52.3 Nm. To handle this enhanced power, we expect the GT-R to feature a dual-disc brake setup at the front.
The motorcycle builds upon the same chassis as the Continental GT 650. Spotted test mules indicate the use of alloy wheels compatible with tubeless tires. Suspension components seem to include RSU telescopic front forks and twin-shockers at the rear, with the possibility of a higher variant featuring USD forks. Additionally, the GT-R may incorporate the Tripper Dash system, offering music control and Google Map integration, enhancing the rider’s experience.
The introduction of the Continental GT-R signifies Royal Enfield’s commitment to expanding its portfolio and catering to enthusiasts seeking higher performance motorcycles. As the company ventures into the 750cc segment, it aims to blend its classic design philosophy with modern performance standards, appealing to a broader range of riders.
Royal Enfield plans to unveil the Continental GT-R by the end of the current financial year, potentially at the 2025 EICMA Show, with a market launch anticipated by early 2026. As anticipation builds, enthusiasts eagerly await the arrival of this new model, which promises to deliver an exhilarating riding experience.
