Royal Enfield aims to make an entry into the electric motorcycle market with the release of the Flying Flea C6. This becomes the inaugural model from its all-electric sub-brand. Scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2026, the C6 blends the company’s storied heritage with modern electric mobility.
The Flying Flea C6 draws inspiration from Royal Enfield’s WWII-era “Flying Flea” motorcycle, known for its lightweight design and versatility. The new electric version retains classic design elements such as a round headlamp, girder-style front suspension, and a teardrop-shaped faux fuel tank that houses the battery pack. These retro aesthetics are complemented by modern features. Features including a solo seat and forged aluminum components, giving the C6 a distinctive look that bridges past and present.
Underneath its vintage-inspired exterior, the C6 comes equipped with advanced technology. A custom chip and Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) enable riders to customize their experience with over 200,000 riding mode permutations. They can adjust parameters like throttle response, braking, and regenerative braking feel. Safety features include lean-sensitive ABS and cruise control, enhancing both performance and rider confidence.
Power and price
While specific performance metrics such as power output and range have yet to be disclosed, Royal Enfield emphasizes that the C6 is designed to offer a characterful and enjoyable riding experience, staying true to the brand’s philosophy. The company is targeting a price point under €7,000 (approximately US$7,900). This price positions the C6 as an accessible option in the growing electric motorcycle segment.
The Flying Flea C6 was first unveiled at the EICMA trade show in Milan in November 2024, signaling Royal Enfield’s commitment to innovation while honoring its legacy. The company is also developing a scrambler-style variant, the S6, which may follow the C6’s release. As Royal Enfield ventures into the electric vehicle market, the Flying Flea C6 represents a fusion of historical design and contemporary technology, aiming to attract both traditional enthusiasts and new riders seeking sustainable transportation options.
